6-Bolt Tail Housing
This kit will convert your 1998 and up 4L60E transmission
to a factory mechanical speedometer and still have a functional
VSS capability. This is a simple 30 minute bolt-on installation.
The conversion kit includes: machined billet adapter that mounts
to the 6-bolt stock transmission allowing the standard 4-bolt tail
housing to bolt upright. It includes a new mechanical speedometer
sleeve with a new gear, and a reluctor/drive gear bushing assembly.
This gear assemble drives the mechanical speedo and operates the

You must include your rear axle gear
ratio and tire diameter the tire size z (typically written on
the tire sidewall as 215 x 60 x 15) with your order for us to
determine the correct speedo gears!

Mount is 4 inches back with the new tail housing.
The SW44 kit will give your 4L80E transmission a factory
manual speedometer hook up that uses all new GM parts and does not
interfere with any stock electrical configurations. The tail housing
is the same length as the stock tail housing which means you can
use your existing drive shaft.
SW44 kit includes new tail housing, drive gear, sleeve
and driven gear, sleeve retainer, and bolt. Tail housing bolts can
be added if needed. This is a simple 30-minute bolt-on installation.
When ordering, provide rear axle gear ratio and tire diameter.
