Pick the Right Shifter

Q: Rod Linkage vs. Cable?

A: Use the Rod Linkage (SW280-R) Shifter if:

1- You are using a very low profile factory console

2- The factory console does not have room inside for a cable shifter

3- Most applications considered a "Hot Rod"

Use the Cable (SW280-C) Shifter if:

1- The factory console was intended for a cable shifter

2- The cable can more easily accommodate space conflicts

Q: When should the "Short-Throw" Gate be used?

A: Use the Short-Throw Gate when:

1- Only available for ROD LINKAGE

2- The factory console has limited room for travel. For example in early (usually prior to 1964) Impalas, Novas, and Corvettes

3- When using the 18 inch handle
