What's In the Box

Overview

This is a NEW re-engineered replacement shifter that is a direct upgraded replacement for the OEM shifter. It will fit the floor exactly like the original even using the original rubber dust boot. Plus, while it has the look and fit of the factory shifter, it has functionality for modern transmissions. The shifter can be set up for both the 3-speed TH350, TH400 or the GM 4-speed overdrive transmissions like the TH200-4R, TH700-R4, 4L60, 4L60E, 4L65E, 4L70E, 4L80E, and also for the GM 6L80E / 6L90E / 8L90E automatics.

The shifter has factory-like reverse lockout and detents for each gear. It is not designed for use as a racing shifter. It functions exactly like a 60's era factory shifter. It comes with a fully functional neutral safety and back-up light switch installed.

To Use with Powerglide Transmissions (Call to order)

Powerglide transmissions use a variety of Range Select Shafts.  The use of any console shifter requires the transmission be able to accept the proper Range Select Lever for that particular shifter and/or shaft.  Shiftworks® offers several products that allow you to make this connection regardless of what Powerglide you may have. Click here to learn what you may need.

*** For 6 or 8-Spd Automatics, know that you cannot mechanically select all 6 or 8 gears of your transmission with the shifter. The shift pattern of a 6L80E / 6L90E / 8L90E is P_R_N_D_M. The "M" position tells the transmission to look for an electronic input (ex. steering wheel paddle shifters / buttons) on how and when to shift up or down. Putting the shifter in "D" or "Drive" will allow the transmission to operate through all gears on it's own based on what the computer tells it to do.
